At the weekend, enjoy the hidden snugs and retreats in the main bar when you attend FUNK’DIFANO Fridays and MANCUSO Saturdays, with weekly DJs providing you live entertainment throughout the evening as well as drink deals and packages to enrich the night. If you are willing to arrange a private event, many locations are available, ranging from 6 to 100 people.

I rented the Hummingbird Penthouse for my 30th birthday, and the service was excellent from the time I saw the venue last year until the night of the event. Robyn was quite helpful in organizing everything and flexible with the early delivery of balloons, cake, etc. The venue is conveniently located, and the penthouse has the ideal size and layout, with modern boutique vibes. The service was also outstanding on the night, and everything went off without a hitch. We were also allowed to leave some of the room decorations to be picked up later.

Tabac

Tabac is a cozy, contemporary watering hole for beer, co*cktails, and Asian and European fusion plates. Tabac, an unlawful drinking hole on Buchanan Street, exudes date night vibes. Step into the atmospheric co*cktail bar, and you’ll be greeted with sensual lighting, comfortable banquettes, and bartenders eager to whip up a range of heady trademark tipples. Tabac, a sultry drinking lair, brings heady co*cktails and artisan beer to Mitchell Lane. The handcrafted bar exudes rustic charm, with old trinkets and knick-knacks strewn around and art deco lighting in the form of salvaged Parisian street lights creating the atmosphere of a passionate liquid lair. The name of the game here is potent tipples. The Naked Word, a mixture of Laphroaig, yellow chartreuse, maraschino liqueur.

And lemon juice garnished with tiny ice shards, is one of the menu’s distinctive co*cktails. Tabac offers a variety of appetizers, from sharing boards and salads to croquettes and sirloin, for those who are hungry. This pub was fantastic; it had a fantastic selection of beers, wines, and co*cktails. The crew is delightful and appears to love their work. The atmosphere here is fantastic. They made sure that my wine glass was excellent. I cannot express how incredible the employees were throughout our time. They were all kind, professional, pleasant, helpful, and friendly. I saw the client disrespecting a staff member, but she handled it perfectly. I will most certainly return. I haven’t eaten at the restaurant, but the Panther Milk Bar, located in the back of this restaurant/bar, is unique.

When we walked in, I thought it looked like a spooky ancient pub from the stone age, with just candles lighting the way. We felt like we belonged to some exclusive club, hehe. The staff were beautiful and came to each table if you hadn’t been in before to explain a little bit about Panther Milk, which made us feel as though the staff truly wanted you to be there and be a part of it. The panther milk itself was fantastic. It’s worth a visit! My partner and I were visiting Glasgow last weekend, and we stopped by Tabac to take a break from our Christmas shopping. We loved it here! I had prosecco and loved how they served it in an ice-cold glass straight from the chiller with a raspberry. There was a great vibe; we stayed here for a couple of hours, feeling very happy.

The Old Hairdresser’s

The Old Hairdresser’s is a no-frills bar with a relaxed vibe offering two levels of seating, plus live bands & musicians. The Old Hairdresser’s, tucked away down a little alley, works on a need-to-know basis. This unfussy party pad is up there with Glasgow’s most stylish and quirky pubs, with a terrific slapdash area upstairs for gigs, plays, and exhibits, ideal for a one-of-a-kind night out. This modest but ambitious cafe bar and arts complex across the alley from Stereo is an excellent little addition to the Glasgow City Center bar scene. The bar and mezzanine offer a blank canvas for the varied event schedule, with exposed brick and raw concrete, naked lightbulbs, and mismatched furniture. The Old Hairdresser’s attracts a mix of young creative trendies searching for something unusual, with frequent gigs and exhibitions.

It has eccentric-themed events. The Renfield Lane pub has a small selection of spirits and beers, but it has everything you need for a good night out. The Ancient Hairdresser’s ambiance combines a studio, a settler’s cave, and an ancient church hall. It seems to be a hidden bar despite not being one. Because functions or performers control music, it is a mixed bag, yet there is always something extraordinary or unique. The Old Hairdresser’s is a joyful place that encourages people to plan fun, haphazard parties and nights out. A fantastic place to spend some time out of the cold while waiting for our transportation to the airport. They do not provide food, but the attractive bartender in plaid recommended the best place in Glasgow to get deep-fried mars bars.

He even took the time to write it down for us (Ghettiefauch Street). It didn’t appear on Google Maps, so we’ll have to try it again next time! We will return the next time there is a conference in Glasgow! It’s always lovely to return to my favorite places and meet familiar faces. I was worried that this place wouldn’t be able to survive the epidemic, but I was relieved to learn that it did. The employees were as kind as always, the drinks were outstanding – and this time, I remembered where the restrooms were. I was sorry to miss the live music, but I’m sure there will be more while I’m here. Been here a good few times and like it. It’s a quirky venue and an excellent place to chill for a few hours.

Glasgow was born in the Clydeside shipyards. They constructed the city and are inextricably linked to it.

The past’s recollections give birth to a new vitality—a musical and social gathering. The region has a humbling realness and honesty that connects. Every Sunday at 9 p.m., DJs spin. This rooftop bar above the Radisson Red is a no-brainer for hip places to drink in Glasgow. During the day, head up for an afternoon spent basking in the sun and admiring the spectacular vistas. Alternatively, come to Red Sky Bar after dark and dance to DJ sets till the wee hours of the morning. Red Sky Bar, the Radisson Red’s rooftop sipping place, provides more than simply stunning views of the city. The bar is a popular destination for evening beverages.

Kelvingrove Cafe

Kelvingrove cafe is a Brasserie bar with leather banquettes and wood paneling serving English mains, snacks, and sliders. Kelvingrove Cafe is all about perfectly garnished co*cktails delivered in chilled glasses. This Glasgow institution is known for its intriguing variety of eccentric drinks, and it combines trendy elegance and old class simultaneously. The Kelvingrove Cafe, once a Victorian ice cream shop, is today one of the chicest and most sophisticated restaurant bars to have reopened in Glasgow’s West End in recent years. The Argyle Street pub’s original shabby exterior and sign have been preserved. They contrast nicely with the redecorated inside, with exposed brick walls, monochrome tiles, leather booths, and a massive brass bar. The menu is organized into three sections:

Small, medium, and extensive dishes, allowing you to choose the size that best suits your mood. Rockafella Skink, roasted filet of Scotch beef, salted beef mac & cheese, and churros are just a few delectable dishes. These people take drinking seriously, making massive blocks of ice in-house that are portioned out using 14-inch Japanese ice saws (!) to cool the drink without diluting it, resulting in a more ‘pure’ beverage. This Glasgow cafe bar is a blend of grown-up, whimsical, and well-traveled, with a vintage air that transports you away from Argyle Street. It was tough to choose from the festive menu because I am an incredibly picky eater. Kirsty put me at ease and went out of her way to bring me the cuisine I desired. On the other hand, my companion diner was really pleased with the menu.

I had breakfast here with a buddy this morning (August 13th, 22nd) and highly suggest it. The staff is kind, pleasant, and attentive. The food and beverages were hot and served quickly. The cuisine was excellent, and I would return for breakfast the next time I came. When our taxi driver picked us up from the airport on our way to our hotel, he urged us to stop at the cafe for breakfast. He was correct; we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that was quick to prepare. Excellent location. The taxi driver was excellent; I cannot suggest it strongly enough. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the café numerous times with a buddy and our dogs. The staff are warm & welcoming to us humans & our companions – they really can’t do enough for you actually, they are so kind.

After our City Tour, we stopped at Kitty’s. It’s a lovely little pub, and being a Friday, it was quickly full. I ordered a chilled Guinness and then picked Fish n Chips. I’ve never eaten such thick, delicious fish served with chips, tartare sauce, lemon, and a pickle Batter was also really crispy. The toilets are spotless. We came to celebrate some friends’ birthdays, and the staff was gracious enough to decorate our booth for us when we arrived. It was amazing to see the pub so filled, and the live music was an extra bonus. Martin and Danny were fantastic. We had a terrific day, with excellent service and a fantastic environment. We haven’t felt this good in a really long time. We will, without a doubt, return.

The Ivy Glasgow

The Ivy Glasgow is a bright, upmarket eatery with a vintage vibe featuring a traditional menu & robust drink list. From sunrise to nightfall, the all-day British brasserie serves contemporary British and worldwide Ivy-inspired classics seven days a week. The restaurant is spread across two stories, with a massive bar on both floors and a lovely private dining room on the first. The restaurant offers a magnificent sanctuary from the usual hustle, located just a stone’s throw from the city’s nightlife and the famed “Style Mile” retail area. As well as the stunning main restaurant, you’ll find outdoor Parisian-style seating, two beautiful onyx bars, and the refined glamor of private dining space for those special occasions. You’ll find everything you need here for breakfast, brunch, dinner, lunch, or catch-up drinks with friends.

We visited The Ivy for the first time a few weeks ago. I had heard great reports about it from friends and family but living 35 miles away hadn’t had the opportunity to visit. I loved the atmosphere and decor, there is a great buzz about it, and I can see why it’s so famous for co*cktails. We were placed upstairs at a table with a view of Buchanan Street, which was ideal for people-watching. Our amiable server was excellent. Very attentive without being too much. We ordered a bottle of house champagne which was very well priced and tasty. For starters, I had outstanding scallops, which were perfectly cooked. My partner had squid, which was also very good. My partner had haddock and chips for the main course, which was very good.

I opted for the rabbit and crayfish pie, which sounded an odd combination instead, but it was delicious. I enjoyed it alot, and I made plans to celebrate my birthday later in the month. The Ivy brings inventive brasserie-style meals and attractive floral decor to Glasgow on a busy Saturday afternoon. I thought that was it. You’d be wrong, as this place serves up some of the best co*cktail creations in town, made by master mixologists behind the bar. The Ivy has opened in Glasgow. Since its inception in 1917 in London‘s Covent Garden, the bar and restaurant have developed a reputation for opulent drinking and eating with a star clientele. The new addition to Glasgow’s city center will be located on Buchanan Street. It will have a beautiful onyx bar with DJs and musicians performing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.

Saint Luke’s & The Winged Ox, named for the church it is situated in, has become a popular live music venue and bar known for its crazy gigs and entertainment. Because the location has recently been remodeled, you can enjoy excellent beers and soul food-based cuisine. St. Luke’s, named for the ancient church on which it is constructed, is a spectacular hub that will accommodate music, live events, art, drinking, and dining on Bain Street. Many of the church’s antique furnishings have been incorporated into the design, resulting in a modern atmosphere.

It encourages a strong lineup of musicians, artists, and comedians to produce a bustling entertainment program. The Winged Ox, a beautiful bar and restaurant with an expansive outside piazza for open-air hijinks, is also located at St. Luke’s. Their menu is centered on’soul food.’ Even though the weather was terrible, it was amazing to finally get out and enjoy food, drink, and fun with friends again. Thankfully, we selected this delightful location situated near the renowned Barras market. We checked in outside and ordered their amazing sandwiches, pizza, and pulled pork fries, which we drank down with co*cktails and other drinks. Overall, fantastic value, and I would strongly advise arranging a table to try the delicious meal and beverages.

Bavaria Brauhaus

Bavaria Brauhaus is a Split-level, German-style beer hall with wood-paneled walls for Bavarian brews & sharing plates. Bavaria Brauhaus is a German-style beer hall and one of Glasgow’s most unusual bars. Every night of the week, you may enjoy splashing steins and zany decor, a selection of traditional food, and a genuine party atmosphere. Bavaria Brauhaus, which is transforming an A-listed building in the heart of Glasgow City, is inspired by one of Germany’s most famous beer halls, the Hofbräuhaus. Bavaria Brauhaus is a natural cavern of classic German physique. The interior decor, spread across two stories with mezzanine seating, echoes historic Bavarian institutions’ elaborate and dignified style, with a unique ceiling artwork commissioned by Glaswegian artist Nichol Wheatley.

The cuisine and beverages are, of course, the spirit of this institution, where you can get your German fix right here in Glasgow with Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), Schnitzel (veal), and classic Bavarian sausage. Regarding steins, Bavaria Brau Haus stays loyal to its roots as the birthplace of Germany’s largest and most infamous beer festival. Expect all the favorites, including Lowenbrau, Hofbrau, Augestiner, Paulaner, Hacken-Pschorr, and Spaten, as well as lots more surprises and an Alpine-inspired wine selection. We saw this lovely eatery as we went by on the airport bus after arriving in Glasgow for our foodie vacation and were keen to spend some time there. We hurried to the Bavaria Brauhaus after a booked supper somewhere (OK, ish).

We were pretty surprised by the genuineness, the likeness to many such locations we’ve seen in Southern Germany. The beer was excellent – they must have followed the Reinheitsgebot, the Bavarian bee purity regulation – and the surroundings were lovely, and the employees were quite educated. A young employee took the time to pour us a batch of various beer tasters, which was an education in itself. After years of loving Bavarian beer, he found us some new tastes and new flavors, and we ordered appropriately. Sadly we couldn’t face more food, but if we had, we’d have enjoyed the wings, ribs, and especially Bratwurst. Great German beer – how lucky is Glasgow? By the way – did I say how gorgeous the decorations, flags, etc. are? I Booked for Friday 19th November. We were allocated a great table up on the balcony. I got a complimentary Prosecco as it was our wedding anniversary. The staff was friendly and attentive. My husband thought it was the greatest Schweinshaxe he had ever had.

Lebowskis

Lebowskis is a simple, classic pub fodder that takes pride in place along with White Russians and a considerable co*cktail choice. It all started with some pretty incredible work from a couple of Dudes in Glasgow’s Finnieston neighborhood. These boys grew up with the idea of surprising and delighting the Lebowskis in all they do. The rest, as they say, is history! Whether you liked or disliked the film, you will like the bar. Lebowskis is a groovy cornucopia of bowling-inspired shenanigans and burger wolfing, with over 25 variations of white Russians available and a selection of traditional combinations and draught beers. Although there is no built-in bowling alley, there are plenty of White Russians in this Argyle Street, a bar-shaped homage to a big film starring The Dude.

Heaving on weekends – and still very active during the week – a fantastic drinks menu and some of Scotland’s most famous burgers have grabbed many Glaswegian’s hearts and waistlines. Despite the 25 white Russians on the menu, complete with movie quotes and grub with names like The MacBowski Fillet Burger, this is more than just a novelty venue. Exposed brick walls clash with fancy wallpaper to create a dive meets deluxe interior. With DJs on weekends, this isn’t the place for a quiet dinner, but it’s a fun, lively spot for movie buffs and buffs alike. My boyfriend and I went for supper and received the most excellent service – we mentioned we were meeting friends later than the time our table was scheduled for, and she arranged for us to sit at another table.

She arranged for us a complimentary drink when there was a little issue with our food order. She is an asset to the establishment. The dinner was delicious, and you will not leave hungry! Burgers are massive yet delicious. I will surely return. We went to Lebowski’s early on a Saturday evening with our tiny puppy. The restaurant offers a bright and welcoming environment, and the cuisine is delicious. I highly suggest the house specialty White Ukrainians. Very relaxed atmosphere, and the vegan Chilli Mac and cheese was the best I’ve ever had; my boyfriend said the same about his Lebowski burger. The White Russian menu is out of this world, with some tasty-looking combos. I will be returning as we visit Glasgow often from Oban and recommend it to friends and family! Chinaskis

Chinaskis is a Compact candle-lit bar celebrating Charles Bukowski and offering a choice of bourbons, plus a garden. Taking inspiration from Charles Bukowski’s infamous protagonist, Chinaski’s might be understated, but that doesn’t mean it’s not one seriously incredible spot. This secret bar in Glasgow is home to a slick crowd of refined drinkers, some tasty eats, and exquisite co*cktails. Chinaskis, a hidden speakeasy in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, is a rare find amid the numerous boozers on adjacent Sauchiehall Street. Chinaskiss is named after writer Charles Bukowski’s alter-ego and recurrent character, immortalized by Matt Dillon in Factotum and Micky Rourke in Barfly. It focuses on the attraction of the passionate protagonist, with a soft spot for whiskey and cigars.

The décor is straightforward, with discreet touches of extravagance in green leather and dark woods. A lovely garden in the back appears a world apart from the city outside. Candlelight, fantastical ambiance takes over the bar at night, making it a perfect setting for romantic encounters and whispered chats. Burgers, spaghetti, steaks, pizza, and the omnipresent bourbon are offered, as are a broad choice of liquor and drinks, with White Russians being particularly popular. The crowd is discriminating yet modest, courteous, well-informed, and keen not to have their tiny bit of heaven stomped on, bypassing beer louts. So don’t seek a sign since you won’t find one. You had to know who Chinaski was and be aware of your surroundings, or you’d miss this pub, which would be a tragedy of epic proportions.

Being a poet, being from Chicago, and knowing a lot about Charles Bukowski made this the ideal unintentional happy destination on a brief vacation to Scotland. We arrived by chance, but terrific rates and excellent service kept us there. We stayed inside because it was a wet day in October (2021), but there was a vast and well-appointed outside space if the weather permits. The service was courteous and prompt. They like working there, as we talked about Bukowski and the nuances of tourism. The meal was delicious. The Bukowski Burger was grilled to perfection and seasoned with the same intricacy as its namesake’s writing. I strongly suggest this establishment but don’t ask if you can get a tee-shirt. Good cuisine, friendly and attentive service. Excellent outside drinking and dining facilities, safe from the weather. The walk from Central Station takes around 20 minutes. I strongly suggest it.
