How do I identify my Huffy bike? ›

Every Huffy bicycle has identification information including the serial number, model number and date code. This is the Production Code. The code is found at the TOP of the white sticker on the BOTTOM of your bicycle frame.

Seat posts, handlebar stems, handlebars, and headsets are interchangeable across manufacturers so long as they're the same diameter. SRAM cassettes will work with Shimano freehubs and derailleurs, if they're set up for the same number of cogs. Front hubs are universal except for through axle types.

Most bicycles have a frame number stamped into the metal under the bottom bracket. If it's a carbon frame, the number will be etched into the surface or displayed on a sticker. Occasionally, the frame number will be on the inside of the chain stay or on the down tube or top tube.

Most typically the bike frame number can be found stamped on the bottom bracket. However, it's not always and might not be stamped at all. It can sometimes be found on a sticker, especially with carbon frames.

A good trick is to loosen the caliper bolts, then hand tighten them so the caliper will still move. Pull the brake lever so the pads grip the rotor, keep it pulled while you tighten the bolts enough so the caliper wont move, release the lever and tighten bolts to proper torque.

1999 – The Huffy Corporation shut down down all of its remaining U.S. bicycle manufacturing operations when it became clear, that due to Asian competition the making of low-cost, mass-market bicycles, was no longer viable from manufacturing plants in the USA.

Three of our manufacturers make their clothes in New Zealand: Cactus, Earth Sea Sky, and Wear on Earth. The former two are at the pricey end of the scale, while Wear on Earth is mid-range. Huffer designs its jackets here; they're made in China.
